Our Extra Virgin Olive Oil has a full-bodied, fruity flavor and is perfect for using “cold.” Consuming this oil cold brings out its natural fragrance and flavor, adding depth and dimension to your dish. We recommend using Extra Virgin Olive Oil in salads and as a base for dressings and dips.
Our collection of olive oils offers a variety of properties and uses, so you can find the perfect oil to suit your needs. Explore our products to see which oils are right for you.
One of the best oils for cooking at high temperatures is Pure Olive Oil, which can be heated up to 420° F. You can use La Española Pure Olive Oil for deep frying, however we typically don’t recommend frying with olive oil at temperatures above 390°F or below 230-250°F.
Smoking point is the temperature at which the oil stops shimmering and starts sending out some serious smoke signals. When cooking with oil, it is important not to exceed the smoking point as this may be harmful to our health and can ruin the taste of food.
The smoking point of an oil does not determine the quality of the oil. Each oil is different and is created with a different production process. We suggest our Extra Virgin Olive Oil for dressing and seasoning, and our Mild & Light Olive Oil and Pure Olive Oil for cooking
Yes, yes, and yes! Research shows that in general, olive oil is more resistant to high temperatures than other oils, but Pure Olive Oil is especially suited for roasting and grilling. For frying, wok cooking, and baking, we recommend our Mild & Light Olive Oil. As these oils are refined after pressing, they perform better with high heat and have a milder taste that will not overpower your meals.
